Frank Turner recently did a special ukelele acoustic performance of “Sailer Boots.” Check out the video below by clicking “Read More.”

Last night was my first public performance since July 2007; needless to say, it was incredibly exhilerating and completely daunting simultaneously. I was met with a very warm reception of applause, and did my very best to reciprocate that through my performance. It wasn’t perfect, but that’s understandable. Luckily, I was able to get through the set with very few problems; though, when presented with a problem, I’d end up laughing it off. I played a few wrong chords, missed a word or two, ended up turning my guitar off during One Red, One White (how still remains a mystery), and made the audience laugh and cheer. Overall, a great time.
Chella came to support and recorded the performance, so we might upload video clips in the future to document this occasion.
According to the promoter, this should be happening once a month. It would mean a lot to me to have more people out to watch, as I’m going to use this as a vehicle to make myself stay in a good performance health, as well as being inspiration for me to finish and perform new songs…which is something I did last night.
Set List:
The Aftermath (Jerecho); One Red, One White (West to Alaska); Days (Automatic Broadcast); Broken Songs (Jim Ward cover); Arrivals (West to Alaska - live debut)
For those interested in attending the next show, it will be held at Dewey’s on the University of Alberta campus (in the former Power Plant building). Times and date will be shared as soon as it’s available.
Thanks for listening,
-J.

I got drunk on my birthday (Nov.28) last year and performed an Automatic Broadcast set for all of my guests.
I even forgot the lyrics at one point.
Introducing, Justin playing “Days” by Automatic Broadcast (drunk). Thank you to my friend Andrea Murphy (@AndiAndy) for recording it ninja-style.
